Tiki Bar Happy Hour: The Painkiller
Known for its origins in the British Virgin Islands, the Painkiller is a stiff rum concoction that carries a tiki flavor. The original Painkiller was created at the Soggy Dollar Bar on the island of Jost Van Dyke. Today it remains a great choice if you are looking for a twist on the usual tiki drink recipes.
The Painkiller is an easy drink to prepare and requires only a few key ingredients. You can do some substitution on this one, but it really needs Pusser’s Rum to carry the heavy and distinct flavor in the Painkiller. Without it, you’re drinking a Pina Colada with a splash of orange juice.
2 oz Pusser’s Rum- 4 oz pineapple juice
- 1 oz cream of coconut
- 1 oz orange juice
Fill your favorite tiki mug with ice, pour in the rum and juices, and sprinkle fresh nutmeg on top. Of course, rum can be added depending on how powerful your Painkiller needs to be!

Oh my this looks delicious. I’ve never heard of Pusser’s Rum, so I’m gonna have to track it down to taste what you mean, because it does sound like a Pina Colada.
WOW! Looks yummy. It is really a painkiller in my eyes(laughs).
